LONDON— Queen Elizabeth’s funeral was by all accounts a somber and stately affair. But for many in the crowd outside Westminster Abbey, the company of others made them happy and the feeling that they had done their best to thank the late monarch.
A sizable crowd, though smaller than many said they expected, set up camp and staked out spots throughout the area to say a last goodbye to the queen and see the spectacle for themselves.
